This was a very loud, dark place. Not many people here, music is very annoying and glaring. Some art on display but mostly with monkey faces. How weird. Rated Moderate.
Jeezz....not much to say here, I wanted to teleport my ass outta here as fast as I got there. I was waiting to see Al Pacino stand up and say "say hello to my little friend" and then shoot all of us with his M-16. On second thought, it was pretty cool.
Second Life can provide the opportunity to share experiences such as different Artist creations, or even the study of art museums. This could be a teaching experience for some students that have never been to a museum, what is found in an art museum, and how art is placed within a museum. There are many different catgeories within Second Life and Art is one of them.
Seraphine's Mood is definitely the most strange of the five places we visited. The levitating man, combined with the intense darkness, was definitely disconcerting. Maybe this world is supposed to be haunted. The creep vibe was very high.
Implications for the arts could be drastic in my opinion. The virtual world opens up a whole new can of worms as far as creativity, and digital animation. The list or options available when designing your own avatar are endless and the amount of code written for these complex programs is hard to even comprehend for the layman such as myself. I don't know yet what the implications are for society, but we certainly are spending a lot of time in the virtual world as opposed to the real world where the real ideas are created. This could possibly have a negative effect at some point.
